📤 Upload Files

Access Upload Dialog​

To upload files:

  1. Go to the Files section in the navigation menu
  2. Click the "+ UPLOAD DATA" button at the top
  3. The upload dialog will open with three available tabs
Location

The "UPLOAD DATA" button is only available in the Files section, not in Dashboard.

📋 Upload Methods​

The upload dialog offers three different methods:

1️⃣ Upload Files​

Upload files from your device:

Option A: Drag and drop

  • Drag one or more files from your file explorer
  • Drop them in the upload zone (cloud icon)
  • Files will be automatically added to the list

Option B: File selector

  • Click on the upload zone (cloud icon)
  • Your operating system's file explorer will open
  • Select the files you want to upload

Preview before uploading:

  • File name: Name of the selected file
  • File Type: File's MIME type (e.g., image/png, audio/mp3)
  • Remove: 🗑️ button to remove the file from the list

2️⃣ Upload Text​

Create a text file directly by typing or pasting content:

  • Text field with character counter (maximum 4096 characters)
  • Ideal for creating text files quickly without having to create them first on your PC
  • The text will be saved as a plain text file

3️⃣ Upload from URL​

Upload files directly from a public URL:

  • Enter the URL of the file you want to import
  • The system will download and process the file automatically

✅ Supported Formats​

fAIr Platform accepts the following file types (MIME types):

🖼️ Images​

  • image/png - PNG
  • image/jpeg - JPG/JPEG
  • image/bpm - BPM
  • image/gif - GIF

🎵 Audio​

  • audio/ogg - OGG
  • audio/opus - Opus
  • audio/mp4 - M4A
  • audio/mpeg - MP3
  • audio/wav - WAV
  • audio/x-wav - WAV alternative
  • audio/x-m4a - M4A alternative

🎥 Video​

  • video/mp4 - MP4
  • video/mpeg - MPEG

📄 Text and Documents​

  • text/plain - TXT
  • application/pdf - PDF

⚙️ Upload Process​

  1. Select your upload method (files, text, or URL)
  2. Add the files or content you want to upload
  3. Review the file list (you can remove unwanted ones with the 🗑️ button)
  4. Click the red "Upload" button
  5. You'll see a loading indicator (spinning wheel)
  6. The dialog will close automatically when the upload is successful
  7. Files will appear immediately in your Files list
No Progress Bar

The upload shows a spinning indicator but no percentage progress bar. Be patient with large files.

🚨 Limits and Restrictions​

File Size​

  • Maximum size per file: Default 1024 MB (1 GB)
  • This limit may vary depending on your account configuration (consult your administrator)

Storage Quota​

  • Each user has an assigned total storage quota
  • If you exceed your quota, you'll see an error indicating how much space you need to free

Audio/Video Duration​

  • Audio and video files have a maximum duration limit
  • This limit is automatically validated when uploading

Permissions by Type​

  • You must have specific permissions to upload each file type
  • If you don't have permissions for a type, you won't be able to upload it
  • Contact an administrator to request additional permissions

Direct Text​

  • Limit of 4096 characters when using "Upload text"

Recommendations​

  • Don't upload more than 10 files simultaneously for better performance

✔️ After Uploading​

Once the upload is complete:

  1. The dialog closes automatically
  2. Files appear immediately in your Files list
  3. Files are in "Ready" state
  4. You can now apply actions to them:
    • 🔍 Detection
    • 🛡️ Protection
    • 🔗 Traceability

❌ Common Errors​

🔴 Unsupported Format​

Error: "Provided file is unsupported: [file type]"

Solution: Verify that the file is one of the formats listed above.

🔴 Size Exceeded​

Error: "File exceeds the maximum allowed size"

Solution:

  • Reduce the file size
  • Consult the administrator to increase your limit

🔴 Storage Quota Exceeded​

Error: "Storage quota exceeded. Please free X MB of space"

Solution:

  • Delete old files you no longer need
  • Contact the administrator to request more quota

🔴 No Permissions​

Error: "You don't have permission to upload files of type: [type]"

Solution: Contact an administrator to be assigned the necessary permissions.

🔴 Duration Exceeded (Audio/Video)​

Error: "File duration exceeds the allowed duration"

Solution:

  • Trim the file to reduce its duration
  • Consult the administrator for the duration limit

🔴 Invalid File Name​

Error: "File name too long" or "Invalid characters in file name"

Solution: Rename the file before uploading:

  • Use shorter names
  • Avoid special characters (only letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores)

💡 Tips​

  • Use "Upload text" to create quick notes or documents without leaving the platform
  • "Upload from URL" is useful for importing public files from the internet
  • Check the MIME type in the preview to confirm the system correctly recognizes your file
  • If the upload takes too long, check your internet connection

Límites y restricciones​

Límites importantes
  • Tamaño máximo por archivo: Depende de la configuración del sistema (consulta con tu administrador)
  • Número de archivos simultáneos: Se recomienda no subir más de 10 archivos a la vez
  • Formatos: Solo se aceptan los formatos listados anteriormente

Después de subir​

Una vez completada la carga:

  1. Los archivos aparecerán en tu lista de archivos
  2. El estado inicial será "Procesando" o "En espera"
  3. Puedes comenzar a aplicar acciones (Detección, Protección, Trazabilidad)
tip

Los archivos recién subidos aparecen al inicio de la lista ordenados por fecha de creación.

Solución de problemas​

El archivo no se sube​

  • Verifica que el formato sea compatible
  • Comprueba tu conexión a internet
  • Asegúrate de no exceder el tamaño máximo permitido

Error durante la carga​

  • Revisa los mensajes de error específicos
  • Intenta subir el archivo nuevamente
  • Si persiste el problema, contacta al soporte técnico
